I thought this frame was built by Swan Timber Frames? Does North Ridge Timber Frames own Swan Timber Frames?
ReplyDeleteNorth Ridge Timber Frames, based in LaValle, WI, on Lake Redstone, is a general contracting or construction managing company that manages the subcontractors to get the entire job done. North Ridge has a number of log framers, post and beam framers, and timber framers that they use. Timber frame is their prefered style and Swan Timber Frames out of Wisconsin Rapids, WI is their preferred timber framer. They are separate companies that work well together to do different things on different jobs.
ReplyDeleteSo, the second picture in the article - is that what your place is going to look like?
ReplyDeletenope, chuck, that is the general contractor's home. ours will look pretty ordinary on the outside, with sort of a pale gray green cement fiber siding and a green metal roof - and of course lots and lots of windows - the only timber that will show on the outside is one truss with the 3 acorn pendants that will be under the overhang at the front door - a hint of wht is inside - and i am looking for a more neutral finish for that wood so that it will not be as dark as Bill's. Did you think we had a time machine? Or were redoing someone's design? Nope - my own design from scratch.
