Shamelessly Lame Quoting of Song Lyrics

Sometimes when things crash around you, all you have to do is ask for help and help is there. That is one of the best things about friends and family and life. "You don't always get what you want . . . " but "you get what you need" and "you get by with a little help from your friends" and family. Yeah, life IS good.

There is probably a phone company that would like you to work for them coining (or, re-coining) ad slogans...

Sometimes the songs in our head is all that gets us by.

I find myself constantly hearing songs that were meaningful. Like you mentioned.

I do wonder however, what does a heavy metal young adult hear when he encounters issues of life.

Or a rapper?

Seems like that wouldn't be so good.

Gene, that idea that lyrics of those styles are vastly different is nonsense. The few songs with extreme lyrics are the ones that get attention, but songs are pretty much universally about the same thing - loving and losing at love and getting by in life - from folk to rap to opera to rock to country. And most young adults have a much more diverse litening menu than we ever did and if they drive around with rap on the car radio, also might listen to regular rock and maybe even country while doing their homework. People are people and defy simple labels, try as you might to pin them onto them.

Ever notice how Christian rock is just formula love songs but directed at Jesus instead of a potential human mate. Those give me the real creeps. Give me rap over Chrstin rock any day.
