At the end of the first day, the two story bent at the side of the house, the eave bent, was in place, and the ground floor portion of the queen bent on that side was in place. This looked like the frame for a giant bench, making us wonder at money making opportunities so near the Dells. "Come see the world's biggest chair!"But seeing as how we'd already paid for a lot more wood and joints, we let them proceed.
The second story portion of the queen bent was assembled on the floor of the house.
It was
then lifted and manuevered onto position.
Typically, a timber frame is build more uniformly from one side to another and from bottom to top, but here, due to the wet soil from heavy snowfall recently melted and ongoing rains, the crew assembled an entire rear quarter of the frame first so that they could move the truck once to the other back quarter once then again to the front of the house once.
So once the frame to at the eave and the frame of the queen beam were up, the rafters for that quarter went on. Now it looked like part of a house!
